Bonfire night is a tradition in the UK to celebrate the discovery of a plot Guy Fawkes organised to blow up Parliament. For instance, a lot of people light fireworks and bonfires to celebrate. But as a bookworm, I prefer to discover shocking plot twists rather then shocking gunpowder plots. So in this post, I am going to share books that achieved a good plot twist as we all love an unpredictable book.

Shocking Plot Twists:

A Court Of Thorns And Roses

Now if you haven’t read the book, I won’t spoil much. But, I love how Sarah J Maas made us all believe that the book had a set flow, a set plot and would follow most fantasy’s plot lines. However, towards the end of the book that’s when it really changed. The shocking plot twists came through and I was flipping through the book so fast to get to the next. I have a review on the trilogy and you can read them here. The trilogy in general is amazing and I read them all under a week! If you like a good Beauty and the Beast retelling, this book is your cup of tea.

Shatter Me Series

To give a quick summary of this series, Juliette is no ordinary teenage girl. Living in a dictatorship is harsh enough, but having the power to kill someone with just one touch is even worse. I loved the writing of these books and how strong the characters are! These books are crazy from start to finish and I would definitely recommend!

Gone Girl

I don’t think I can ever get over that ending. It’s crazy, it’s disturbing and honestly quite creepy. Gone girl is a psychological thriller that was so captivating, I couldn’t stop reading it! In a way, a book called 13 minutes may have taken inspiration from it as that was a creepy book too! If you’re into mysteries and crime, this one is for you.

I haven’t got on to reading the book, so I guess I am kind of cheating. But those that I do know have said that the book is really good, just like the TV series on Netflix. The TV series is captivating and even though I knew Joe was a weird psychopath, somehow his narrative became quite likable. I think that’s the most weirdest and shocking thing about You, he’s not your typical creep as Joe seems normal to the outside world. This is another thriller/crime that will keep you hooked!

The Cruel Prince And The Wicked King

This month, the last installment of this trilogy will be released and I had to include it in this blog post! I absolutely love the wrtitng, the strong characters and how Holly Black continues to surprise readers in this to be trilogy! Fantasy and YA are my favourite genres, I’d recommend this series if it’s the same for you! The plot of this book is gripping and I might’ve became a little too invested with this series!
