Autumn is such a cosy season, and it can get pretty rainy too. So for those of us who prefer to stay inside when it is raining, here is a list of things to do on a rainy day!
Things To Do On A Rainy Day
A list of things to do on a rainy day, put together by an introvert who enjoys all things warm and cosy.
The Obvious, Read A Book
I’m a book blogger, so of course I had to mention books in this blog post! I have quite a few recommendations here, so have a browse and let me know if you’ve seen some favourites! Harry Potter is my all time comfort, cosy read. As well as just rereading some of my favourite books from this year such as the infernal devices!
Have A Chilled Day
Enjoy the fact that you’re inside and warm whilst it rains outside. Have a little bit of self care in, put on your favourite playlist and relax! We all have pretty hectic lifestyles, so it’s good to just take a breather and enjoy some old tunes.
Bring Back The Hobbies
There’s nothing better then returning to your hobbies! Whether it’s baked goods, art, reading or whatever I am sure it will occupy your time and in the end you may even feel accomplished with what you have done!
Movie Marathons
If only binge watching was considered a hobby! Well at least in my eyes it is! I have already listed a few favourites in my cosy films to in this autumn, so check it out if you’d like some new recommendations.
Productive Mood
When it rains I either want to get cosy or be productive! So this doesn’t need to be in the comfort of your home, you could visit a cafe that you might love and power through some work! Or working at home can work too!
Get To Know Your City
As well as admiring the nature from inside, visit some places in your city as if you were a tourist! I think this would be so fun, relive some memories or make some new ones! To give you a few ideas, I might visit the library for my enjoyment instead of actually studying there for once. Or if you like museums, I’m sure there are a few in your area you could visit too!
Explore
This one links to get to know your city. But as you explore your city, you may come accross some history. From there questions will lead to questions and you’ll definitely want some answers! Or if history is not for you, go on an adventure with some friends or family! Get your competitive streak out with bowling or be strategic with an escape room.
Have A Jar On Hand
Often, I get bored easily. I also live in England which means the rain is pretty frequent too. So maybe jotting down a few ideas and putting them in a jar could help you out next time. The stars featured in the picture is something that might keep you busy too! Just pick out a piece of paper and do said activity!
Have Company
If the rain really is terrible, then a few others might be house bound too. Calling over loved ones is a pretty simply idea and could lead to a great and memorable night. At least that way you won’t be bored by yourself!
Some Bookish Activities
I couldn’t go long without mentioning books! Bookish activities could mean anything! From rereading some chapters, to creating character mood boards, I’m sure you’ll find something to occupy yourself with. After all there are countless of books and countless of ideas to go hand in hand.
I hope this post has been proven useful to you all! Let me know your thoughts on this post and next week I’ll be back with some bookish content that we all love!
We don’t have autumn here, but the end of the year is usually for rainy season. And while it still hasn’t rain everyday yet, this post is perfect! I do love to read, have a movie marathon, or just cleaning up my room when it rains outside 🙂
Aw I’m glad you enjoyed this post! Reading and movie marathons are some of my favourite pastimes 🤗
