Autumn has finally arrived and the rainy weather has me staying inside! I love watching a cosy film with a hot chocolate in hand as I snuggle up on the sofa. I watch films a lot and putting together a list of cosy films to help find your next watch seemed reasonable to me!
Forever Cosy Films: Harry Potter
To be honest, I would watch these films at any time of the year. But maybe it’s because summer has ended for them and their adventure begin at the start of the school year. These films obviously call for comfort food and fairy lights to add to the magical atmosphere.
Hocus Pocus
Is there anything else to say other then the fact it’s based around Halloween time, which means autumn time, which means cosy time! Another family-friendly adventure that will be an all time fave of mine! Plus we all love a good 90s overdose of halloween!
Twilight
If you’re looking to laugh at dumb characters and sparkly men, then you’re in for a treat! I am that person who will watch a trashy film so that I can laugh at scenes that aren’t supposed to be funny. I always wonder why I loved the series as a young reader, but I think we have all been through the vampire and werewolves stage of reading.
Matilda
Matilda will always be there for you if you want to feel nostalgic. Roald Dahl has amazing books and this one is a film that actually did justice. Matlida is on the list for cosy films as it gives me all the feels and I always look forward to the song that plays whilst Matilda makes pancakes (you’re a real one if you know which song ). Now that I think about it, I should’ve added it in my books to movies adaptations I’m a fan of!
Cosy Films Of The 8Os:
The Goonies
A classic that I have watched countless of times. I love the thrill of the kids discovering everything and of course the mid 80s humour is the best too! In a way it reminds me of Stranger Things and you can definitely tell they got inspiration from the film!
Dirty Dancing
Cosy films are often nostalgic ones and Dirty Dancing is definietly on that list! If you love the 80s, dance and fun music this film is for you! The film did come out in October too, so I think that’s an obvious sign for you all to watch this film this autumn!
I hope this was a useful guide to you all! I had a lot of inspiration from my childhood as well as searching Pinterest and Instagram and finding the odd quote from these films! This is my first post of this month and be prepared for blog posts offering more tips and tricks on all things, books and social media! In the meantime, check out my last post here.
Matilda is an extremely get cozy film. But as much as I love the movie, I have never read the book. Is it worth reading after watching the movie so many times.
Definitely agree, watched the film way too many times haha! Although, I’ve not read the book that many times, I still felt the same cosy vibe!
Great list! It’s been such a long time since I watch The Goonies.
Thank you! And same here haha, planning to watch it again soon!
