Watching movies in December is the best way to get in the Christmas feel good mood. It’s a good way to cosy up and return to old favourites or new! In this post, I’ll be sharing my favourite movies to watch this December!
Movies To Watch This December: Cartoon And Animated
For those of us who don’t mind watching cartoon Christmas films every once in a while!
The Grinch
So there is a normal version and an animated Grinch but I honestly think that they’re both pretty good in their own ways! It’s a perfect film to put on when you don’t want to concentrate much and is a good laugh too!
Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas
One of my all time favourites! I’m a little obsessed with Disney, so I would always play this every December. It features three short stories with the original Disney gang and has a heartwarming moral of the story too! A movie I’m sure everyone might enjoy!
How To Train Your Dragon: Christmas Special
I absolutely love these films, they’re so adorable and toothless anybody? A short Christmas special was recently released so its perfect for this time of year! Although the three films aren’t exactly christmassy, I still think it would be a great movie to watch this December!
The Classic Christmas Movies
The ones that everyone seems to know and watches every year! These films are quite often associated with Winter and Christmas in general!
Love Actually
A romantic comedy which tells the story of eight different couples in London and how they handle their own problems! This one is here for the laughs, the problems, the funny characters and overall plot!
Home Alone
So I don’t think I even remember the movies after the first home alone, I think that just proves how good the first one is! A classic film, all about a crazy big family who go on holiday but leave eight year old Kevin behind. It’s all fun and games until thieves try and break in. The intelligence of Kevin and the extreme measures he has to take to protect himself is amazing, this film is one I’ve watched many times and can’t get over!
The Holiday
Christmas films definitely have that common theme of all things love! Two girls from two different countries end up finding love unexpectedly with two locals. Here’s an excerpt Iris is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Amanda realises the man she lives with has been unfaithful. Two women who have never met and live 6000 miles apart, find themselves in the exact same place. They meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. Honestly I’m a sucker for these sort of movies so I’d definitely recommend!
The Cheesy Netflix Films We All Hate But Love
I can’t be the only one who thinks Netflix films are a hit or miss? They’ve been releasing quite a few Christmas films, so here are some that I didn’t actually mind!
Let It Snow
Maybe another common theme with Christmas films is that it follows many characters story lines. It shows teen love, friendships and relationships! I enjoyed watching it and although at times I did find myself thinking did that really happen? It wasn’t bad at all!
Cinderella Story
I can’t even count how many adaptions I’ve seen of Cinderella and this one isn’t the worst! Based around aspiring singers, elves, santa and not so friendly family, this film is perfect in need for a lighthearted one!
I hope you all have enjoyed this post and hopefully picked up some film recommendations!I’d love to know if you have watched any of these! Be sure to check in with yesterdays and tomorrows blogmas post, you can find all the scheduled post on my Instagram!
Great picks! The Holiday is my all time fave!!
I will definitely be watching the HTTYD Christmas special, can’t wait for the cuteness overload 🙂
For sure, Toothless will provide me the hype and cuteness I need to get in the Christmas spirit!
