10 Diverse Book Releases March 2020

There are so many new book releases in March 2020. A lot of them such as Crescent City and Chain Of Gold have received a lot of buzz over on social media. However, there are so many hidden gems that are also being released this month. And as one of my reading goals for this year is to read diverse books, this blog post is perfect to help me accomplish that goal and maybe introduce you to some new books to add to your to be read pile.

1. The Kingdom Of Back By Marie Lu

New York Times Bestselling Author Marie Lu is releasing a historical YA fantasy. A story told of music, magic and sibling bonds, this book has already intrigued me. I love when two genres cross over and I’m excited to delve right into this one. Releases 3rd March.

2. Wicked As You Wish By Rin Chupeco

From the author of The Bone Witch series, Rin Chupeco brings a novel with found family, modern day magic, and finding the place you belong. It’s definitely intrigued me and I only hope it gets the hype it deserves. Also being released on the 3rd. A lot of these book releases March 2020 are on the 3rd, it’s going to be a good day for bookworms.

3. Dragon Rising By M. Lynn

A Mulan inspired fantasy. I’m a huge fan of fairytale retellings, I don’t think I talk about it enough over on my bookstagram. Filled with dragons, fierce female leads and a slow burn romance – I’m all in! Releases on 13th March.

4. Thorn By Intisar Khanani

Another YA fantasy fairytale retelling releasing on the 24th March. I’m a sucker for royalty books and Princess Alyrra sounds like a fierce heroine who fights for what she believes in.

5. The City We Became By N.K. Jemisin

A science fiction and fantasy, The City We Became releases on the 24th March. Five New-Yorkers band together to save their city, when an ancient evil stirs beneath the Earth.

6. Harley In The Sky By Akemi Dawn Bowman

I loved Akemi Dawn Bowman’s book Starfish and so I’m anticipating a good read out of this book! Described as The Greatest Showman meets This Is Us, Harley in the Sky is a contemporary novel about a multiracial teen who follows their dreams. Releases 10th March.

7. Every Reason We Shouldn’t By Sara Fujimura

A multiracial romance including all the feels, banter, romance and skating. This sounds like the perfect, cute, lighthearted read! This book also released on the 3rd March, (did all publishers team up to make bookworms broke on this day)?

8. Avocado Bliss By Candace Robinson

Another contemporary with Mexican culture and what I am sure is a roller=coaster of a ride romance. A take on living with type 1 diabetes, this book might prove to be both filled with grief and cuteness. Releases on the 27th March.

9. Grown Up Pose By Sonya Lalli

When traditions, dating and independence collide, Anu has to learn what she truly wants and that others opinions might not need a huge say in her life. This book releases on the 24th March.

10. Anna K: A Love Story By Jenny Lee

A re imagining of the book Anna Karenina which tells the story of first love and heartbreak that teenager Anna K deals with. This sounds like a Gossip Girl, Crazy Rich Asians sort of book and I’m all here for it. Releases 3rd March.

All the books I have mentioned are either fantasy, contemporary, sci-fi and historical fiction. If you know of any upcoming diverse books that I haven’t mentioned either in these genres or not, I’d love to know! A lot of thrillers are being released this month too, they’re not diverse but I’m definitely looking forward to them! And the hype for popular books releasing is keeping me so excited over on Goodreads and Twitter. There are many books I’m looking forward to read in March, diverse or not. It’s going to be a packed reading month for sure!
