I love Bookstagram and I also love Autumn, putting two and two together to provide this post wasn’t hard and I’m excited to share my tips! My previous bookstagram post shared some tips and tricks to do well on the platform and everyone really enjoyed it! In this post, I’m hopefully going to provide some helpful information so that we can all have pretty and aesthetic feeds!
Autumn Bookstagram 101
1. Anything Cosy
Grab the nearest thing that is cosy and put it in a picture. That’s it, that’s the tip. Okay, so that’s really the gist of getting a good autumnal picture. The season is known for being cosy so of course adding any cosy props like candles, jumpers, pine cones, conkers will make the picture look good! If not that, then adding in props that have an autumn colour palette (reds, browns and oranges) will do the job too!
For example, the majority of the time in my bookstagram pictures I use candles. Whether it be summer, autumn, winter or spring I find that they always look good in a picture. It just depends on what other props you use to determine the season. Using a pumpkin pretty much gives me autumn bookstagram vibes, but using some flowers give me a summer or spring look!
But props such as pine cones, pumpkins and conkers aren’t versatile to other seasons and straight away reminds me of autumn! It honestly depends on what props you use for the picture!
I’m also a huge fan of using tea in my posts too, so it’s always a good prop to use too! There are many flavoured ones out there that give a lovely colour or even just using whipped cream on a hot chocolate is good too!
2. Scenic background
I rarely go outside to take pictures, but nature is always a good start! As I mentioned before, pine cones, pumpkins and conkers remind me of autumn so instead of getting some fake props, why not take advantage of what’s outside? Going to a pumpkin patch and taking pictures there definitely means your feed is sorted! I love appreciating the colours of leaves in autumn so even just going to a pretty park would be good too! Of course there is always the choice of buying faux leaves too. I prefer to take my pictures inside, especially when the weather is pretty awful. It’s up to you when it comes to your own autumn bookstagram pictures!
3. Layout
This doesn’t necessarily have to do with autumn, however it’s a tip I’d recommend! I love a good flat lay, they’re so fun to put together and edit! Flat lays can be interesting to take, different angles changes the whole picture! But I love it when bookstagrammers are somehow in the shot either showing a beaming, smiling face or showing off a really cool outfit. I get it, putting yourself out there is scary which is why I rarely post these sort of pictures. It’s not exactly my style but to those who pull it off, it looks amazing! For inspiration, Pinterest always does the job for me to help come up with ideas!
I hope these tips have been helpful to achieve an aesthetic, cute autumnal feed! I’m trying to follow them more often as these tips have worked for me! If you have any bookstagram tips you’d love to share then I’d love to know your thoughts too!
