The student life is pretty rough. There is a pile of homework and revision just waiting for you to get on with it. It’s annoying, so annoying especially when you want to enjoy yourself this December. I’ve already done a post on how to stay sane. This post is about managing the insane student life along with Christmas.
Find A Balance Between Home Life And The Student Life
It’s hard to know when you should stop revising and when you should spend time away from anything related to school. I’m not going to tell you when you should stop as I don’t know your limits. Only you do really. So you have to make the decision to walk away from revision and spend time to do hobbies or spend time with loved ones etc. If you’re a reader like me and struggle to find the time to read when you have exams, I have written a post here where you can find some tips.
Keep The Mood Up
A lot of the time when I have revision, I’m not in the greatest of moods. I tend to keep to myself and stick to the same old routine. But what I don’t realise is that by doing this, it makes my family so worried. And if I’m being honest, my mood isn’t enjoyable to me or everyone else. So try to understand another point of view. They may not understand what you’re revising or how important it is, but they do want to be there for you. Try to talk to them. Perhaps for them to understand your work or for you to understand their worries for you. Communication is important, especially when there are a few clueless faces around too.
Set Realistic Goals
I mentioned this in yesterdays blogmas post: how to stay sane during Christmas. But it works for balancing the student life too. Don’t overwork yourself to the point where your mental and physical health isn’t the best it could be. Whilst school is important, your well being matters more. By setting realistic goals with breaks in between to relax and look after yourself, you might find that you’ll be less stressed. But you’ll still be stressed, that’s never going to go away. Well for me anyway as I tend to overthink situations way too much. But, if you can find a way to make this exam period easier, then that’s all that really matters.
The Festive Season Only Comes Once A Year
Christmas only comes once a year! Exams are sprung upon us all of the time. Just remember to be happy and spread the love this season. Appreciate what you have and remember that everything happens for a reason. If you know that you’ve done the maximum amount of work that you can do, then that’s all that matters. So have fun with loved ones, show them you care too and only time will tell what is meant to be and what is not.
I hope these tips will come in handy to those who are still living the student life! Be sure to let me know if you’ve followed through any of these tips too! As we all know gift buying can be hard, my post tomorrow is a gift guide aimed for students! I have another gift guide up for bookworms and movie geeks too and you can read that post here. Also, check my Instagram as I have all my scheduled posts there too!
