Stay At Home Book Tag

Thank you for tagging me LiteraryLeisha to do the stay at home book tag! This seems perfect to try and be a little more positive in quarantine!

1. Laying in bed- a book you read in one day

Recently I’ve been rereading the Harry Potter series and so it was Prisoner of Azakaban. I also read Coraline and House of Salt and Sorrows in one sitting, trust me to cram in my last owls before the month is over! If you’re interested in knowing what I read for my owls, I have a post!

2.  Snacking – a book that is a ‘guilty pleasure’ read

I don’t think I have a guilty pleasure read! Although I might say that the kindle 99p book deals are amazing, but I shouldn’t be buying them as I’m on a book ban. For the most part I haven’t bought any physical books.

3. Netflix – a series that you want to start

You would think that being at home means that I would finally get to all of those series I’ve been meaning to read. But nope, there are still a ton of series on my tbr and the list could go on! The ones that I’m hoping to get to soon are The Dark Artifices, Caraval and Shatter Me. These are series I want to start, finishing series are another story for now. The Stay At Home Book Tag really is exposing me haha!

4. Deep clean – a book that has been on your TBR for ages

Ah too many to even list! I’d say Educated by Tara Westover, it’s a memoir and I don’t read them often, maybe that’s why it’s taken me a while to read it! But it sounds so interesting and I’m all for appreciating education.

5. Animal Crossing – a book you recently bought because of the hype

Crescent City for sure! That book was all over bookstagram and Twitter, eventually I gave in and it might be one of my favourites! I was a little wary as I do have some issues with Sarah J Maas’ books, but I enjoyed it a lot!

6. Productivity – a book you learned from or had an impact on you

The Things I Would Tell You: British Muslim Women Write, hands down this book left an impact on me. I was intrigued that it was shortlisted for Emma Watson’s book club and so I had to read it. I’ll be sure to have a full review up soon.

7. Facetime – a book you were gifted

As I’m on a book ban, I think I end up talking about books more so then usual! My sister ended up gifting me Vox by Christina Dalcher, a Sci-fi dystopian book which I’ve yet to read.

8. Self-care – what is one thing you have done recently to look after yourself

I won’t lie, there have been a lot of days where quarantine has really got to me. I’ve found that going back to my old hobbies like journalling has made me really happy! And of course reading is the best type of self care.

BONUS – An upcoming release you are looking forward to

Definitely The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes! The Hunger Games trilogy is one of my all time favourites, I can’t wait to see what the prequel brings!

What are some books you’re looking forward to reading?

  1. Love your answers! I totally get your Educated dilemma, it’s been on my TBR for ages too, simply because it’s a memoir and I don’t read that many of them. Thanks for the tag! 😁

    1. Thank you! And yes I relate to that, I always stick to my comfort zone but I will get to it!
